The Moose Legion or Degree of Service was created by resolution, and adopted by the Supreme Council in 1913. Good standing members of the Loyal Order of Moose are eligible to take the next step in fraternalism, membership in the Moose Legion, the Degree of Service. It was established to provide greater opportunities for Lodge members to serve the Lodge and fraternity. The District Lodges belong to the Mighty 190 Legion. To become a member of the Moose Legion you must meet certain requirements. You must be a Moose member for six months and sign and enroll 3 new members or be a member for one year and sign and enroll 1 new member. After meeting these requirements you will be invited to join this higher degree from Moose International. Upon receipt of this letter you will need to approach any Moose Legion member to be sponsored into the Higher Degree. Special social activities called Moose Legion Celebrations are scheduled at various lodges within the jurisdiction of each Moose Legion. These Celebrations serve as a means to be enrolled in the Legion and to share ideas and good times with fellow Moose Legionnaires. For more information about how to join the Legion contact a Lodge Legion representative listed in the Lodge Moose Call or any Legion member. |
